Powermax 155 boilers
« on: September 09, 2008, 09:54:32 AM »
Hi - I'm in Adventurers Court and have one of these.  The central heating bit has given up the ghost, although the water still works.  On the assumption that I cant be the only person on the estate to have one of these, does anyone know a decent plumber who knows what they are doing with them?  I ask because a little bit of googling has revealed that they are not the best-respected of things, e.g. BG homecare dont seem to want to touch them!

Thanks for any hints.

Hi
Im with BT Homecare and they serviced my powermax earlier this year as i was not getting hot water.

One of the problems with the powermax is that if you don't turn the heating on at least every quarter, a cog inside freezes up and won't work. ( aparantly this is in the brochure that came with the boiler) and you must service each year.

I had a boilerman out a few years back as my heating wasn't working, he was in for 5 mins and fixed it, looks really easy.

Mental note to check heating tonight.
