Does anyone have a recommendation for an EPC supplier in Virginia Quay?

Thanks. Geoff

A bit wiser now, my enquiries started at Firstport and over the phone I asked if fixtures and fittings where covered by the buildings policy and was assured that they were. Then I was passed via email to the insurance division of E&M who sent me a copy of their buildings policy documents which I have to admit were a bit legalese and so not very useful, however I am encouraged by the immediate positive Firstport response.
I don't know if the fixtures and fittings (kitchens, bathrooms, walls etc.) are an option that buildings insurance policy holders can de-select or not, but surely this question must run through the minds of a lot of leasehold flat owners.

Turned out that the people who were cabling the building for the new community fibre broadband had damaged the cable servicing my flat. Fortunately there was a spare one which could be used as a replacement rather than having to run in a new one.

Most of you must have received a letter about eminent plans of installing 3(!) speedbumps on small stretch of Jamestown way.
Having lived here for 10years, I have rarely seen anyone speeding on this path. The bumps will cause more inconvenience than safety.
Worryingly- these decisions just seem to be just pushed down upon the residents than basing them on any sort of resident feedback. Do we have zero say on such plans?
i've  been a resident in SCC for roughly 13 yrs and i've experienced mopeds and cars racing roughly once a month during early morning hours, more so during the summer, down newport avenue

i do however share your concerns with the ever increasing service charges, they have doubled from 1800 to 3600 over 10 yrs (large spike after the waterfront issues)

Hi, thanks for the response to my comment.  Agreed it will not directly stop the ‘ASB’ from the people who come into the estate in cars to ‘hang out’.  However, these are often the same people who also race around on Jamestown way.  Anything that helps to prevent them using the VQ estate for ASB all the better.

Great idea - ..
...Lets hope that this also in some ways helps to discourage the many cars from outside the VQ Estate who are using this area to 'hang out' in a antisocial way..

I have never heard of speed bumps as a deterrent for antisocial gatherers! Maybe I am wrong...

Great idea - speed bumps are much needed
We regularly see cars speeding in this area, endangering children and pedestrians.
Well done to First Port for listening to residents and acting to help solve the problems

Lets hope that this also in some ways helps to discourage the many cars from outside the VQ Estate who are using this area to 'hang out' in a antisocial way.  Too much nose and pollution from these cars idling with engines running.
